What’s one thing everyone at Movement has in common? We all want to Make Progress a Lifestyle.

We are a community of over 6000 people and every single one of us, at some point in our lives, has been in a position where we thought to ourselves “Something needs to change”.

This is the exact reason Movement exists. It is the reason we continuously invest so much time and energy into making sure our Movement family has access to the essential Skills, Tools, Relationships and Environment needed to make sustainable and meaningful lifestyle changes.

We know that you will only get a benefit from your membership if you turn up consistently over a long period of time. There are a few things we’ve put in place to help you make progress a lifestyle.

  • GROUP FITNESS
    Group Fitness is Social Connection IRL and Social Connection is proven to be a key to achieving a high quality of life. The guidance and support you get from great instructors is one of your keys to success and why we continue to invest more in our Group Fitness Programs.

  • COACHES > SALESPEOPLE
    We are developing an innovative coaching program called Progress Journey in all our clubs which is designed to help you create the compounding behaviour you need for Wildfire results. This program is included in your membership at no extra charge. We may not be able to solve all your problems and there will be times when we recommend that you work one-on-one with a specialist Personal Trainer, Physio, Psychologist or other practitioner. But there is so much we can do together first.

  • COMMUNICATION
    What you won’t hear from us during your membership is nothing. We will be in touch with you as often as we can with tips, stats, reports and guidance. If you want a bit of quiet time, that’s fine too it is really easy to opt out.

Movement is not a large well-funded franchise.  We are a small family-run business and we are imperfect just like you.  We don’t have everything right and never will, but we are always trying to make progress. 

There are some areas of our business where progress is taking longer than we like and unfortunately, sometimes there are large multinational competitors, difficult landlords and worldwide pandemics that make our progress difficult.  But some of our clubs have all been around for 20-40 years and we aren’t going anywhere.  We will continue to apply the same principles of improvement that we teach you.

THE BIT ABOUT YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Here is everything you need to know about a Movement membership.

  • Contracts

  • How to Suspend

    • You can suspend through the Gymmaster Member App anytime for up to 3 months in any 12-month period.

    • The minimum term is extended by suspensions

  • How to Cancel

    • 30 days notice

    • Must be in writing (cancellation form in person or via email)

    • Cancellation within the minimum term has a $150 cancellation fee

  • Direct Debit & Failed Payment Fees

    • 10 Failed payment fee

  • Access & Safety

    • Use your own access tag every visit and don’t share it. If you forget it, just check in at reception.

    • Under 18’s are welcome and must be supervised by an adult member. This is the responsibility of the parent/guardian that signed up.

    • During unstaffed hours, keep your mobile phone on you at all times and in the event of an emergency, call 000.

    • Our clubs have multiple camera’s throughout the premises.

  • Mates Rates

    • Remember, every time you refer a friend who joins you both get $1/week off your membership for 12 months.

      Download the GymMaster Member Portal app to book classes, manage your membership and communicate with our team at your club.

THE BIT ABOUT THE GYM

If you’ve never been to a gym before, here are a few things to be aware of. We may have covered all this in your tour when you joined but if not, here’s a quick reference.  If you have any questions, just get in touch with us for more

GYM ETIQUETTE & HYGIENE

  • Always use a towel. It doesn’t matter if you don’t sweat. Everyone uses a towel

  • Don’t drop weights. They are made of steel but they still break. There are exceptions but take this as the rule. Dropping bumper plates on the platforms is OK!

  • Re-rack your weights. Don’t leave a mess for the next person.

  • Enclosed shoes are required. Again, there are exceptions so check with us before you go barefoot in the gym.

SAFE LIFTING & EQUIPMENT OPERATION

  • Pin-loaded is the best place to start lifting. All our machines are getting QR code links showing how they work.

  • Don’t use the equipment in ways its not designed.

  • When starting out, just make sure you take it easy and work your way up slowly. Improvements in form will come.
